The Jumanji franchise was rebooted in 2017 with Welcome to the Jungle, starring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. The movie grossed $962.5 million on a reported $90 million budget, and its 2019 sequel, The Next Level, was also a hit with a $801.7 million haul.
The movie ended on something of a cliffhanger when creatures from the world of “Jumanji” started finding their way into reality. Fans have waited patiently for news of a threequel ever since, and nearly six years after Jumanji: The Next Level loaded up in theaters, production has finally begun.
