The Masked Singer returned tonight for another evening filled with music, chaos and plenty of unexpected unmaskings.
Entering its eighth week, the hit FOX singing competition has been on a roll this season, surprising the audience in attendance, the viewers at home and the panel of detectives—Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora—with multiple high-energy performances from the mysterious cast of masked singers. And this week will continue the trend, as the remaining contestants take on the music of a hard rock legend.
Another shocking unmasking
Last week’s episode saw just three contestants—Crane, Snowcone and Pugcasso—take to the stage to perform some of the Spice Girls’ greatest hits for the detective panel. The seventh episode also saw the return of Taraji P Henson, i.e., Scarab, who was eliminated earlier in the season. The actress joined the detective panel to help them close the cases on the remaining masked singers.
Following the first round of performances, Pugcasso was voted safe from elimination by the audience and judges. This meant Crane and Snowcone had to compete in a “Spice Royale,” performing a duet of “Stop” by the aforementioned girl group. After an energetic rendition from both celebs, Crane was crowned the winner, with the detectives electing to eliminate Snowcone from the competition. The frozen dessert was revealed to be Heidi Montag, who was joined onstage by her husband, Spencer Pratt, during her unmasking.
With her elimination from the competition, The Hills star joined David “Big Papa” Ortiz, The Chrisleys, Tiffany Haddish, Tone Loc, Claudia Oshry, Teddi Mellencamp, Billy Ray Cyrus and the aforementioned Henson as the Season 14 celebs unmasked thus far—with another set to join them tonight.

This week’s theme
For their first March episode, The Masked Singer celebrated the life and music of the “Godfather of Heavy Metal,” Ozzy Osborne. In addition, the show welcomed the Black Sabbath frontman’s daughter, Kelly Osborne, back to the detective panel. Osborne was previously a contestant, appearing as Ladybug on Season 2 back in 2019.
Tonight’s episode featured performances from four of the remaining masked singers—High Voltage, Galaxy Girl, Eggplant and Pangolin—showcasing one more celeb than last week. The contestants were tasked with tackling an array of rock tunes, including a few from Osborne’s extensive catalogue.
High Voltage
The electricity-themed masked singer was up first, singing their rendition of “Paranoid” by Black Sabbath. In their preroll footage, the mystery celeb noted that they understand Osborne on another level, as they also broke away from a group in their youth to go solo.
Both Jeong and Osborne applauded High Voltage’s commitment to their performance before the detectives received the mystery celeb’s bonus clue: the word “bandwagon.” Jeong guessed they might be Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day based on the clues, but was promptly booed by the audience. Meanwhile, Ora thought they might be John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls. Osborne went in a wholly different direction, believing they might be Tim Allen due to a couple of potential Toy Story references.
