The drama over the former Prince Andrew has been going on for so long, and yet it feels like it might never die down. Part of it is that the Epstein files have brought Andrew’s relationship with a convicted sex offender back into the spotlight, and part of it is that the sheer scope of Andrew’s depravity is only just starting to come to light. And then, of course, there is the fact that even though the disgraced royal was stripped of his titles and ordered to vacate Royal Lodge, he is still there. He has yet to disappear from the public eye.
And some believe that, even after his upcoming move to Sandringham happens, the “lurid speculation” won’t stop. Royal author Robert Jobson told Hello! that, “The royals are hoping to draw a line under the Andrew Mountbouten-Windsor controversy in 2026. He is expected to move out of his Royal Lodge home in Windsor for a more modest property on the King’s private Sandringham estate,” adding, “Whether it ends the lurid speculation about him only time will tell, but it is doubtful.”

Let us all remember that, during that infamous 2019 Newsnight interview, Andrew explicitly said that he did not regret his friendship with Epstein because it had some “seriously beneficial outcomes” when Andrew was working as a UK trade envoy. He also lied about cutting ties with Epstein after allegations about him came out, with pictures of the two of them proving they were still in contact afterwards.
And, just recently, it was reported that in a newly released 2021 email from the Epstein files, Andrew allegedly asked Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell if she had “found me some new inappropriate friends.” There was also a picture of him, Maxwell, and a group of unidentified victims at Sandringham.
The former prince has not been pictured in public since he was stripped of his titles, and he did not attend the royal family’s Christmas celebrations, though his two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, were present at the family’s Christmas walk. The two, however, were forced to avoid chatting with people in case they were asked about their father. Talk about awkward.
Reports indicate that Andrew’s life will be changing soon as he moves to Sandringham, but that it might get even worse whenever William becomes King. Andrew Lownie, who wrote a biography about Andrew and his ex, Sarah Ferguson, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York told Page Six in a recent interview, “He’s worried about what’s going to happen. He’s going to be no longer protected. William is going to deal with him.”
“He wants the stables cleaned … the window dressing is that Andrew will leave by the spring, and he’s a good boy, and he’s done what he’s been told,” he added.
According to Lownie, however, Andrew is rarely “a good boy,” with the royal expert predicting despite the fact that he’s already agreed he will “go kicking and screaming,” and only after making sure his demands are met, including a “pretty big house, extensive staff, a gardener, a driver, a housekeeper [and] a cook.”
Once at Sandringham, he will reportedly be expected to fade into obscurity. But will that be possible if more reports of his crimes continue to come out? We will have to wait and see.
