Once again, Pennsylvania’s amusement parks were ranked among the best in the nation.
This time, it was for the USA Today’s Readers Choice Awards for 2025, in the category of the Best Theme Park Holiday Event.
“These 10 theme parks across the United States don’t hold back when they deck their halls — and attractions — for the holidays,“ reads the list on USA Today. ”Nominated by an expert panel and voted by readers as the best, these theme park events provide visitors with parades, seasonal live entertainment, visits with Santa, and plenty of festive cheer.”
In 10th place is the Holiday Lights at Kennywood, found at Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, Allegheny County.
The western Pennsylvania theme park offers many holiday-themed attractions, include local choirs, festive treats and “the most colossal Christmas tree in Pennsylvania,” according to USA Today.
Next up is Hersheypark in 9th place, where the Christmas Candylane transforms the Derry Township destination into a festive display of lights.
“Parkgoers can visit with Santa and his reindeer, watch a light show synchronized to favorite holiday tunes, enjoy family-friendly rides and thrilling coasters, and sip signature Hershey hot chocolate,” reads the USA Today website.
And in 6th place, ranking highest among Pennsylvania parks, is Dutch Winter Wonderland at Dutch Wonderland.
The park is “a hit with families, thanks to the park’s immersive light shows, dozens of themed rides and attractions, the ‘A Chris-Mouse Carol’ puppet show, live music, and visits with Santa,” reads the USA Today website.
No other state boasts more than entry on the list, which may suggest that Pennsylvania packs more holiday cheer per capita than anywhere else in the nation.
