The picture, produced by Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes, is being written and directed by Josh Lawson, the actor/director who starred as Kano in “Mortal Kombat” and was Oscar nominated for the live-action short “The Eleven O’Clock.”
Protagonist Pictures will be handling international sales with newly-announced Logical Pictures International co-repping alongside them and UTA will represent U.S. rights. Logical also provides full financing for the film.
“Shredded” is described as offering an “unflinching look at the darker side of modern fitness culture and self-obsession,” and as a “propulsive thrill ride that pushes toxic gym culture to terrifying extremes.”
