Travis Kelce may be known for his touchdowns and tight end swagger, but when it comes to Taylor Swift’s newest album, he’s every bit the proud fianccé. As the Kansas City Chiefs star and Swift prepare for another public spotlight this fall, Kelce opened up about “The Life of a Showgirl” during the latest episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason, and his words showed both admiration and genuine respect for Swift as an artist.
“It’s a different feel for sure, but I got used to it real quick,” Kelce said when asked what it was like to listen to the record alongside Swift herself. “You get used to it. I just listened to it wholeheartedly because it’s her creation. You just want to appreciate it for what it is.”

Travis Kelce Listens Like A Fan, Not A Star
It was a simple but telling quote. Kelce didn’t sound like a celebrity talking about another celebrity. He sounded like a partner who’s fully invested in his significant other. He made it clear that his focus was on supporting Swift’s creativity rather than worrying about public attention. “The biggest thing is to make sure that the person that you’re in the room with knows that you’re being open to what they’re creating,” he added, reflecting a level of respect that’s made their relationship resonate with fans.
Celebrating The Music And The Moment
Throughout the episode, Kelce gushed about the album’s success and how special it’s been to see fans embrace it. “Let’s just give it up for Taylor,” he said, applauding her achievement. “She’s done it again. She’s put the world on tilt. It’s been so fun to see everybody’s reactions.”
He admitted he still listens to the songs in his car and even singled out “Actually Romantic” as one of his favorites, calling it a track with a “’90s rock” vibe that he can’t stop replaying. His mother and extended family even attended Swift’s official release party at AMC Theatres, showing how closely their worlds have blended.
A Relationship Rooted In Respect
For Kelce, it’s not just about being mentioned in lyrics or being part of Swift’s record-breaking success. It’s about appreciating the hard work behind the scenes, something he relates to from his own career. “I’m just the lucky man that gets to be the support system for Taylor while she drops one of the coolest albums I’ve ever listened to,” Kelce said. “I’m excited for her. I’m happy for her. Everything seems to have gone perfectly.”
Swift and Kelce have managed to balance public fame with private respect, and that’s reflected in how he talks about her art, with pride, patience and admiration. As Swift celebrates another milestone and the Chiefs look to stay competitive in the AFC West this NFL season, both seem to be thriving in their respective arenas, cheering each other on along the way.
