Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged, the pair announced in a collaborative Instagram post Aug. 26.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the pair wrote in the post, which featured five photos of the romantic moment captured in a lush garden.
The first shot features Kelce, a former University of Cincinnati Bearcat and current tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, embracing the billionaire superstar while down on one knee.
When did Travis and Taylor start dating?
Rumors started circulating that the NFL player and superstar were dating in July 2023, when Kelce insinuated on his “New Heights” podcast that he brought along a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it during Swift’s Eras Tour stop at the Chiefs’ home venue Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
A few months later, on Sept. 20, Travis’s older brother Jason Kelce seemingly confirmed the dating rumors were true in an interview with Philadelphia sports radio station 94 WIP.
“It’s hard to answer, ’cause I don’t really know a lot about what’s happening in Travis’ love life,” he said after radio hosts asked him about his brother’s relationship status. “I try to like keep, you know, his business his business and stay out of that world.”
“But, having said that, man, I think (Travis and Taylor) are doing great,” Jason continued. “I think it’s all 100% true and I hope this thing goes a mile.”
Later that week, on Sept. 24, NFL and Swiftie fandoms alike were rocked when Swift appeared at the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears, cheering on Kelce from a private suite with his mom, Donna.
