There’s always drama ahead of a wedding, and it looks like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s big day is no different. Everything is fine between them, but there might be one “loose cannon” in the bunch.
There have been rumors that the 36-year-old pop star was keeping her wedding details under wraps even amongst family members because of one person: Ed Kelce.

“He’s sort of like a loose cannon. Nobody knows what he’s going to say, so it’s kind of a controversial situation,” a source claimed to the Daily Mail in May, while noting that Ed “can’t be trusted” with insider information.
While that news might have kept Ed away from the press, he spoke up about the celebrity wedding of the year to Fox 29 Philadelphia on June 24.

“She is a sweetheart that is truly the girl next door, just like [Jason’s wife] Kylie,” he gushed during son Jason Kelce’s Team 62 Fundraiser in New Jersey.
But Ed wasn’t the only one to speak up; the retired NFL star also chimed in without giving away any information.
“Very excited for my brother. I’m very happy for both of them. I’m looking forward to celebrating with them. It’s a good year right now,” Jason said while joking, “I plead the fifth” after being asked if he was invited to the nuptials.
It sounds like everyone is falling in line with the don’t ask, don’t tell policy for the top-secret plans. Still, Ed probably learned his lesson when he blabbed maybe a little too much after his youngest son got engaged to Swift in August 2025.
“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,” Ed told News 5 Cleveland after the engagement. “He was going to put it off till this week … but he was going to put her off till this week to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big, special event.”
“[Travis] got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” he continued. “They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
Swift is working overtime to keep her wedding as safe and as private as possible, but it’s pretty hard to keep everything secretive when you allegedly book Madison Square Garden as your venue over the Fourth of July weekend. The New York Times is even getting in on the spoiler act, reporting on June 24 that the streets around the historic Manhattan building will be closed off the entire weekend, thanks to a permit that was filed.
And the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s teammates have reportedly booked hotel rooms at the Marriott Marquis during that same time period. It’s hard to keep secrets when it’s Swift and Kelce’s wedding.
