Ex-footballers Adebayo “The Beast” Akinfenwa and Troy Deeney will be stepping up to the plate, along with boxer Connor Benn. Also making an appearance will be TV personalities Louie Spence, Rebecca Loos, Tasha Ghouri, Harry Clark, Chloe Burrows and Addam Collard. Musicians Hannah Spearritt, Lady Leshurr and Lucy Spraggan and DJ and drag act Bimini will also be competing. Finally, Michaella McCollum, one of the ‘Peru Two’ arrested in 2013 on suspicion of international drug smuggling, will be taking part.
The show will see whether the celebrities have what it takes to survive Special Forces training. Away from their usual comforts, they’ll need to dig deep.
“This course is not an attendance course,” said Chief Instructor Billy Billingham. “The bar is set high and will not waiver. Every recruit is a volunteer who chose to step into our arena. Although many will start, very few will finish and even less will pass. This is not for the weak minded or faint hearted.”
“SAS: Who Dares Wins is brutal, revealing and a testament to human perseverance,” said Rudy Reyes, part of Billingham’s Directing Staff (DS). “Punishing elements, relentless pace, and standards that make war fighters proud to give these recruits a hard reset to find their true self. And in that truth, an insight into the human experience for us all.”
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins begins on Sunday 3 August at 9.00pm on Channel 4.
