Hollywood A-listers assembled in their red-carpet best while coach potatoes gathered in their living rooms as the greatest television of the year was honored Sunday at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards.
All the action took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze handling hosting duties for the evening. He kicked things off with a bang, announcing a $100,000 donation to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America — and then added that $1,000 would be deducted for every second that any winner spoke for longer than their allotted time. Talk about a way to keep the show moving!
The crowd was filled with superstars of the small screen, including tons of recognizable faces from the marquee series that nabbed the most attention over the last few months. Going into the telecast, Apple TV+’s Severance led the pack with 27 nominations, followed closely by The Penguin with 24, The Studio with 23, and The White Lotus with 23 as well. Also highly represented was The Pitt — a fantastic series that our very own Katie absolutely loved. (If you missed her delightful chat with its incredible star, Noah Wyle, do yourself a favor and catch up right here.)
So who actually took home the gold? Here’s a look at the night’s big winners — which we’ll be updating as the awards continue to be handed out.
