Two people from Shreveport have been nominated for the 2026 Grammys: Addison Rae Easterling and former Evangel quarterback Dez Duron.
Addison Rae Easterling, TikTok influencer turned popstar, was nominated for Best New Artist after the release of her debut album, “Addison,” on June 6. Her songs, “Diet Pepsi,” “Aquamarine,” and “Headphones On,” each have impressive streaming numbers.
Rae attended Shreveport’s Calvary Baptist Academy and graduated in 2019. She attended Louisiana State University.
Dez Duron, who made his Broadway debut in 2024, was nominated for Best Musical Theater Album as a principal vocalist on “Maybe Happy Ending.” He also competed on “The Voice” in 2012 on Christina Aguilera’s team.
He was a captain and quarterback at Evangel Christian Academy, and graduated in 2009. He was a four-year letterman at Evangel, where he helped the team win two state championships and one as state runner-up in 2008. His football accolades also include being named Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year and All-State offensive MVP. He also set state records with 58 touchdown passes as a senior and eight in one game.
The 2026 Grammys will take place on Feb. 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, broadcasting live on the CBS Television Network and streaming live and on demand on Paramount+.
