It’s been a year and a half since Usher took one of the biggest stages in the world—and he’s now sharing who he thinks should be front and center for the next Super Bowl halftime show.
TMZ spoke with Usher in New York City this week just outside CBS Studios. He’s been in the city hitting multiple New York Fashion Week events already, including the Ralph Lauren show where he posed for pics with Oprah Winfrey and other celebs.
Usher also received the Virgil Abloh Award September 9 at the Harlem Fashion Row Fashion Show & Style Awards, so it’s been a busy week.
In the TMZ clip, the singer is asked if he ever plans on creating a fashion line of his own—to which he responds, “One step at a time, would definitely love doing something like that, yeah.”
Considering he’s had a residency in Las Vegas and performed the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Usher was then asked what he plans to do next. Usher says, “More of all of it, lifestyle, family, you know what I mean? Real things to remember. Y’all seen Naviyd doing his thing online? TikTok, keep checking him out musically and you know and staying creative.”
Usher’s son Naviyd has built quite the following on social media, with nearly 300k followers on TikTok where he posts videos of his dancing and music skills.
Finally, Usher is asked who he’d like to see perform during halftime of Super Bowl LX—and he throws out Metallica. It might seem like a long shot, but at least Usher has hope.
Super Bowl LX will happen February 8, 2026 from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Metallica was formed about 350 miles south in Los Angeles … so if Usher gets his wish it’ll technically be a home state show for the rock group.
