Venezuela Fury is tuning out the critics. The 16-year-old daughter of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury addressed the backlash surrounding her recent marriage during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, making it clear that outside opinions haven’t changed how she feels about marrying 19-year-old amateur boxer Noah Price.
“As long as it’s not my family or my friends, they’re the most of what matters to me, I ain’t bothered,” Venezuela said when asked about the criticism. She added, “I don’t like people being unkind; I don’t agree with it.”
The newlywed has been under public scrutiny since she and Price married in a private ceremony at the Royal Chapel of St. John the Baptist on the Isle of Man in May. Much of the conversation online has centered on her age, while other social media users criticized everything from the couple’s wedding gifts to Venezuela’s choice to wear Crocs during the celebrations.
Despite the attention, Venezuela said she has no second thoughts about getting married.
“Yes, I am young, but I’ve found the person I want, and I’ve carried on with my life,” she said. “Everyone’s got to start somewhere, so I started young.”
Her parents have remained firmly in her corner throughout the engagement and marriage. Paris Fury has repeatedly defended her daughter’s decision, pointing to Venezuela’s maturity and noting that she herself became engaged as a teenager before marrying Tyson Fury.
Speaking previously, Paris said Venezuela had “chosen this path,” adding that she couldn’t judge her because “I was 17 when I got engaged.”
Tyson has also encouraged his daughter to ignore outside commentary. In a recent interview, Venezuela said her father advised her “not to listen to what others say or let anybody get involved in our marriage.”
She added that her mother’s advice has been equally straightforward: “There’s no divorce. Mom says to be respectful, stand your ground, but be kind.”
The Fury family has often spoken about its Irish Traveller heritage, and both Tyson and Paris have publicly defended Venezuela’s decision to marry young.
