Brandi Carlile was the musical guest on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Miles Teller. Backed by a full band, Carlile performed two songs from her new album Returning To Myself, “Church & State” and “Human.” During “Church & State,” she recited Thomas Jefferson’s 1802 letter to the Danbury Baptists. Last night marked Carlile’s fourth time as musical guest and her third SNL appearance this year alone; she was among the performers at February’s SNL50: The Homecoming Concert and, in April, joined Elton John to play songs from their 2025 collaborative album Who Believes in Angels?
Bad Bunny hosted Saturday Night Live’s 51st season premiere last month alongside musical guest Doja Cat. Since then, Role Model made his SNL debut and Sabrina Carpenter pulled double duty, hosting for the first time and performing songs from Man’s Best Friend. This week’s episode is set to feature Nikki Glaser and Sombr. Then, on November 15, Glen Powell will be joined by Olivia Dean.
