As much as we love seeing celebrities competing on Dancing With the Stars, we love the shots of their friends and family cheering them on even more. Especially the Irwins. When Robert Irwin made his DWTS debut last week, his mom Terri Irwin, his sister Bindi Irwin (former Mirrorball champion), her husband Chandler Powell, and their daughter Grace Warrior, 4, were among the most excited supporters in the crowd. Grace in particular was so cute with a blue sparkly star dress and pink ear protection. She was beaming up at her uncle from the front row, and it was so sweet.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that on episode 2, however, Grace was absent from the show. And now, Robert revealed exactly why she couldn’t make it.

A reporter for Entertainment Tonight pointed out that only Bindi and Terri were in the audience last week, and Grace, aka, Robert’s “good luck charm,” was missing. “She has a very busy schedule,” Robert explained. “So she’s having some time catching up with family. So we had a whole bunch of family come over from like Oregon, Australia, everyone, so she’s been catching up and laying low.”
DANCING WITH THE STARS – “Premiere” (3401) – “Dancing with the Stars” returns for its 20th anniversary. Cohosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, with judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough, the ballroom welcomes 14 new celebrities for their first live performance. What a sweet answer. Grace was either trying to fit in time to see all of her different family members, or she was having a hard day and her parents decided to just keep her home this week. I’m sure it’s hard to keep a toddler entertained and happy for that long at a live show, while being recorded, and we don’t blame them at all for giving her a break! (Plus, it’s obvious Robert is a fan favorite and will be there for weeks to come.)
Grace has been busy during the family’s temporary relocation to Los Angeles to support Robert. Bindi shared photos last week offering fans a glimpse of what they’ve been up to. “A little glimpse into my camera roll from the last week…” she wrote on Instagram, posting snaps at Disneyland, looking out over the LA skyline, and more.
Robert also recently posted about Grace, sharing a video of himself teaching Grace some dance moves, which she does her best to follow along with in a chaotically cute way. “Did I win?” she asked her uncle at the end, and he confirmed she did. “Everybody else can go home now,” Robert quipped. “Grace has won.”
We have no doubt Grace will be back supporting her uncle soon. After all, she has such a great time. In the interview with ET, Robert shared, “Mate, she loves it in here. It’s hilarious. She comes in here, and I swear she thinks that she’s getting on the floor. She just walks on like, ‘yeah, I’m ready!’”
“So watch out, Season 50, Grace is coming for ya,” he added. It is a family tradition after all!
