The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards were a star-studded event, but several stars were noticeably missing from the show.
“The Bear” stars Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri, who received acting nominations for their respective roles as Carmy Berzatto and Sydney Adamu, both skipped the Emmys this year.
According to Variety, White missed the Sunday, Sept. 14, awards show to attend a friend’s wedding. This year marked his third consecutive Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. He won the accolade for “The Bear” in both 2023 and 2024 before losing to Seth Rogen (“The Studio”) on Sunday.
According to E! News, Edebiri was unable to attend the 2025 Emmys because she’s currently filming a project in Japan. She won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for “The Bear” in 2023 but lost to Jean Smart (“Hacks”) both this year and last year.
“The Bear” didn’t take home any Emmys this year despite receiving six total nominations.
Keep scrolling to see other celebs who skipped the 2025 Emmys:
Eric Dane
Dane was scheduled to present an award with his fellow “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Jesse Williams to celebrate the medical drama’s 20th anniversary. However, only Williams took the stage to present the award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, which went to Adam Randall for “Slow Horses.”
A reason has not been given for Dane’s absence. The actor announced in April that he’s battling ALS. He sat down for an interview with Diane Sawyer in June, noting that his right arm “has completely stopped working” as a result of the disease.
Elisabeth Moss
The Emmys snubbed Moss and “The Handmaid’s Tale” this year, giving the Hulu drama’s final season only one nomination: Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Cherry Jones (Holly).
Moss, who previously won an Emmy for her portrayal of June Osborne in “The Handmaid’s Tale” in 2018, skipped this year’s awards show. It’s unclear if she stayed home because of the snub.
