- Prince William and Kate Middleton’s neighbors are allegedly upset over their intense security at Forest Lodge.
- The security is described as a six-mile “ring of steel” covered in CCTV.
- Neighbors say they feel “ambushed,” and William and Kate are alarmed by the backlash.
Today in Prince William and Kate Middleton’s neighbors are mad at them, the royals have put up so much security at Forest Lodge that neighbors are—allegedly!—being seriously inconvenienced. The Daily Mail reports that the royals have set up a ‘ring of steel’ security zone, which consists of a “six mile cordon” around Forest Lodge “bristling with CCTV cameras and ‘no entry’ signs.”
Neighbors have complained about being “ambushed” by the situation, and feel “absolutely gutted” by security preventing them from walking around Windsor Great Park.
“They say you can use other gates but you can’t because there’s nowhere to park,” one neighbor said. “We’ve lived here for 20 years, it’s lovely in there. We appreciate they need privacy, but it’s a real shame. We are absolutely gutted.”
Another person added “It’s a blow, but they aren’t going to change their minds,” while yet another said “It would have been decent of them to send a bottle of wine or something to apologize.”
So how do Will and Kate feel about the backlash? Apparently they’re “alarmed” (palace sources disputed this), but residents will have to deal because they plan to stay at Forest Lodge forever—even when William becomes King!
