Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were back in public together this week, sharing a family night out in Paris with their son, Jaden Smith, as legal battles involving one of Smith’s former friends continue to play out back in the U.S.
According to E! News, the pair were photographed walking arm-in-arm after dinner at Loulou on June 22 during Paris Fashion Week. Jaden joined his parents for the outing, which marked another public appearance for the family months after Will and Jada reunited in Paris to support Jaden’s debut collection as Christian Louboutin’s men’s creative director.
The photos arrive at a notable moment for the Smith family. While Will and Jada have maintained that their relationship no longer fits a traditional mold, they have continued to show up together for their children and major family milestones. In 2023, Jada revealed that she and Will had been living separate lives since 2016, but she also made clear that divorce was never part of the plan.
“I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce,” she said at the time. “We will work through whatever.”
That message of unity comes as another chapter unfolds in Jada’s legal fight with Bilaal Salaam, a former friend of Will Smith who has claimed he was part of the actor’s inner circle for decades.
Earlier this month, Salaam asked a California court to revisit a ruling that ordered him to pay Jada Pinkett Smith $32,836 in attorney fees. According to court filings obtained by TMZ, Salaam says he is “certified homeless,” relies on public assistance, and cannot afford the judgment. He has requested either a reduction in the amount owed or a payment arrangement.
The fee award stemmed from Salaam’s failed $3 million lawsuit against Jada. Filed in late 2025, the complaint accused her of threatening him during a 2021 confrontation and causing emotional distress. Among the allegations was a claim that she warned he would “end up missing or catch a bullet” if he continued discussing her personal business publicly.
Jada has repeatedly denied those allegations. During a 2023 appearance on The Breakfast Club, she dismissed similar claims as “nonsense.” Earlier this year, a judge granted portions of her anti-SLAPP motion, striking key allegations from the case and awarding her legal fees.
The fallout has also expanded beyond Jada. Last month, Will Smith’s ex-wife, Sheree Zampino, filed a separate lawsuit against Salaam over statements he made during an interview with Tasha K, alleging they were defamatory.
