Actor and director James McAvoy was punched by a drunken man at a bar in Toronto, Canada, according to Entertainment Weekly.
McAvoy, star of the horror flick “Speak No Evil,” was allegedly assaulted by a stranger in Charlotte’s Room, a tavern near the event, while attending the Toronto Film Festival, the publication reported.
Staff asked the intoxicated man to leave the bar before he allegedly took a swing at the actor, according to Entertainment Weekly.
McAvoy was in Toronto to promote “California Schemin’,” a project in which he both directed and starred, when the incident occurred.
The actor also portrayed Prof. Charles Xavier in several movies in the “X-Men” franchise.
