At the same event, Ishaan Khatter stated that he knew the show wouldn’t be a romantic comedy for women but had an idea that it would “cater more to the female gaze.” The actor expressed shock over the reactions from the male audience. He shared, “But the number of men who have walked up to me and said, ‘I have watched you in ‘The Royals’ three times over,’ is shocking.”When Ishaan was asked about the number of times he removed his shirt in the show, the actor said that he has completely lost the count.He went on to say, “At some point, I think they were just compensating for the lack of budget. It came to that. ‘Yaar scene’s not working; shirt utaar de’ (‘the scene is not working; get rid of your shirt’).”The show was directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana and premiered on the streamer in May 2025.
