The American Civil Liberties Union has released an open letter this morning signed by 400 Hollywood celebrities expressing their dismay at Disney pulling “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” off ABC. The letter notes how essential free speech is for the U.S. film and TV industry to engage in its business at all, while acknowledging that “this moment is bigger than us and our industry.”
Tom Hanks, Lily Wachowski, Regina King, Ben Stiller, and Meryl Streep were among those, also including music stars such as Olivia Rodrigo, who signed.
