It was semifinal night on MasterChef: Dynamic Duos as the Top 4 faced another iconic challenge but one that if they mastered would take them to the finale: “Keeping Up With Gordon.”
But this season’s “Keeping Up With Gordon” challenge had an added twist: It was also a Tag Team challenge, which made it more difficult as not only did each Duo attempt to make one of Gordon’s Michelin star dishes at the same speed as he made it, but they also had to do it while taking turns cooking.
On the menu was Gordon’s Buckwheat Crusted Duck Breast with parsnip purée, sweet & sour endive, pickled daikon & cherries and port white sauce. One duo was eliminated and turned in its white aprons while the other three made it into the finale in the all-new “Keeping Up With Gordon – Tag Team Style!” episode. Check out our spoiler-free recap of everything that happened on MasterChef: Dynamic Duos tonight.

That means that the Duo that was eliminated was Zach & Michelle.
“It’s so emotional,” Michelle said. “I’m just so proud of what we’ve done. We came in as home cooks and this has made us realize our dreams and what we’re capable of. At the end of the day, we get to go home to our life that we love and our son. I think he’s going to see what mom and dad can do, and hopefully, that will inspire him to someday do the hard things, too. That’s a prize in and of itself.”
MasterChef airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. Streams next day on Hulu.
