Charlie Kirk’s relationship to his wife has come to an abrupt end after the conservative activist’s life was taken unexpectedly.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, the influencer was shot in the neck after a sniper took aim at him while he was speaking at Utah Valley University.
Charlie leaves behind his wife Erika Frantzve and kids as it’s revealed that he died in the hospital. Here’s what we know about his and Erika’s relationship.
First Met- 2018
Charlie first met Erika back in 2018 when the two met at a Turning Point USA office opening. The two bonded over their shared passion for conservative activism.
While speaking on a panel in 2024, the influencer admitted he “knew almost immediately” that she was “the one.” He then recalled the first moment they had met, comparing it to “an interview.”
Started Dating- 2019
The two began dating the following year.
Engagement- 2020
On December 2, 2020, Charlie got down on one knee and proposed. He announced the news to Instagram, saying, “She said yes,” followed by a heart emoji.
Erika also shared the news, as well as a series of engagement photos. She accompanied the pictures with a caption that said, ”…when God writes your love story, you get to marry your best friend.”

Got Married- 2021
Charlie tied the knot to Erika on May 8, 2021 during a private ceremony in Scottsdale, Ariz.
“To the man that loves so deeply, so intentionally, so selflessly, so unconditionally that it reminds me of Christ,” Erika wrote to announce their nuptials. “…to the man that I am immeasurably blessed to be able to call my husband. My CJK. I love you @charliekirk1776.”
Welcomed Their First Child- 2022
Charlie and Erika welcomed their daughter on August 23, 2022.
Welcomed Their Second Child- 2024
Erika gave birth to their second child, a boy, in May of 2024.
Throughout his life, the couple chose to keep their children’s names and faces off of social media, previously explaining, “We have a girl and a boy and it’s no ones business what their names are or their faces.”
Charlie Dies- 2025
Charlie just began a speech at UVU when he was fatally shot. It is believed that a sniper was in a range of around 200 yards when he had fired at the activist.
He was initially hospitalized in critical condition but ultimately from the wound.
Erika has not broken her silence since the shooting transpired and her husband was pronounced dead.
