James Gunn‘s Superman Buried Snyderverse, But His One Delay Can Be Fatal for Dcu

James Gunn has officially buried the Snyderverse with his Superman, but his hesitation in casting Batman could prove costly for the Dcu. According to Variety, studio insiders believe that Gunn needs to quickly lock down his Dark Knight because the Man of Steel alone cannot carry the franchise’s momentum.

The upcoming projects are intriguing, but as one marketing executive bluntly put it, “I wish ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Clayface’ weren’t the next ones, but it’s a pretty confident first step.” For now, Gunn has proved that DC movies can stand tall without Zack Snyder, but the long absence of Batman might leave an undeniable gap in the foundation.
