Ares” soundtrack, and a Marlon Wayons-led football horror film top this week’s Must List

Jasper Savage/Prime Jaz Sinclair (Marie Moreau) on 'Gen V' season 2

I think I’m still dehydrated from melting on the Emmys red carpet, but it was completely worth it. Though host Nate Bargatze’s Boys & Girls Club bit may have fallen flat for many, the telecast was still a win for me thanks to some touching and impassioned speeches and some unexpected winners. Do you agree with our picks for the show’s best and worst moments?  —Patrick Gomez, Editor-in-Chief

Jaz Sinclair (Marie Moreau) on ‘Gen V’ season 2

The season 1 finale of The Boys‘ college-set spinoff left Godolkin U’s campus a bloody mess. Marie, Andre, Jordan, and Emma put down the supe uprising, but then psychotic fascist Homelander showed up to condemn them as villains and herald the murderous Cate and Sam as top students and potential recruits for the thoroughly corrupt Seven. Season 2 finds the real guardians of Godolkin locked away, and the Prime Video series’ connection to The Boys even stronger, given Billy Butcher’s brief season 1 finale cameo. A reckoning no doubt awaits. —Debbie Day, Staff Editor

Dark, twisted, and haunting, the Jordan Peele-produced film tackles the cutthroat world of pro football. Marlon Wayans stars as the game’s greatest of all time, who agrees to train his potential replacement (Tyriq Withers) at his isolated compound, where nothing is as it seems. —Mike Miller, Executive Editor
