The festival, branded “Africa’s Real Summer,” will feature live music performances, stage takeovers, day and night parties, fashion and food events, as well as art installations. It is aimed at both local audiences and members of the African diaspora travelling to Nigeria during the December holiday season. Tickets will go on sale from 1 October.
According to organisers, the programme is structured around four pillars: music, nightlife, culture, and community. The line-up will span Afrobeats, amapiano, R&B, hip hop, and cross-continental collaborations. Cultural activations will include fashion showcases, culinary pop-ups, and film discussions, while community activities will focus on safe fan experiences reflecting the city’s homecoming energy.
Detty December has become widely recognised as a month-long cultural phenomenon in West Africa, drawing significant international attention in recent years. Global media outlets such as Forbes, Condé Nast Traveler and celebrity.land have covered the impact of Lagos’ festive season, while business reports have noted its contribution to tourism, hospitality, retail, and the night-time economy.
Livespot360, the company behind the initiative, has previously produced Entertainment Week Africa, Livespot X Festival, Love Like a Movie, Born in Africa Festival, Club X, and television productions including The Real Housewives of Lagos and The Voice Nigeria Season 3.
The festival is expected to add to Lagos’ growing profile as a December cultural destination, with organisers describing it as an effort to provide structure and scale to what has evolved into a global travel and entertainment fixture.
