George Clooney’s Ocean’s Eleven character Danny Ocean would louvre to get in on the action that took place in Paris, France, on October 19.

While speaking to Variety at the Jay Kelly Los Angeles premiere on Thursday, October 23, Clooney said that Danny Ocean would likely be jealous of the people who robbed the Louvre, one of the most famous museums in the world, in broad daylight and have yet to be caught.

“I wonder if they’re going to catch these guys,” Clooney, 64, mused. “They seem to have done a pretty good job of getting away with it. I watched the film of them coming down… It was cool, though. It’s terrible, but if you’re a professional thief like I am [in the Ocean’s films], I was very proud of those guys.”

The actor — who recently said that Ocean’s 14 will likely go into production next year with original stars Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle — was asked if the team behind the franchise would consider incorporating the Louvre burglary into the plot.

“We should,” Clooney replied. “We should rob the Louvre! But somebody’s already done it, man. I don’t know.”

He added, “It is pretty funny because it was in the middle of broad daylight — crazy — with all the tours there. Now I have to really pull it off.”

As for the upcoming installment in the heist comedy film franchise, Clooney teased, “The script is done. We’re in great shape. It’s just scheduling now, and we’ll get that together by next year.”

The Louvre investigation remains ongoing. Earlier this month, thieves disguised as construction workers entered the national art museum and took eight pieces of the French Crown Jewels.

The entire robbery took less than eight minutes, with four of them spent inside the museum itself. The Louvre reopened on October 22, but the robbery suspects remain at large.
