Sydney Sweeney has joined Justin Lin in Apple’s reimagining of the French classic from Philippe de Broca, That Man from Rio, which left a lasting impression on Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Sweeney, whose next feature, Christy, is set to open in theaters next month, will also serve as an executive producer on the remake (via Deadline).
Lin, too, produces the movie through Perfect Storm Entertainment, alongside producer Kevin Walsh, who, like Spielberg, was a longstanding fan of the original and had been pursuing the rights to the IP for quite some time now. Lin will be directing the movie from a script by Chase Palmer.
