Key Points

  • Charley Crockett praised Bad Bunny and criticized Trump’s administration in a political Instagram post.
  • Crockett urged country music to learn from Bad Bunny’s cultural pride and innovation.
  • He condemned wealthy elites’ influence and stressed fighting for rights and supporting the oppressed.

Charley Crockett has sent a bold political message to his fellow country music stars, praising Bad Bunny and slamming President Donald Trump‘s administration.

Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, gave a Super Bowl halftime performance that fans can’t stop talking about. It featured guest appearances and several positive messages amid the current political climate in the United States.

Following Bad Bunny’s performance, Crockett took to Instagram, where he shared a very lengthy and blunt message.

“They keep saying I’m a cosplay cowboy but they love a cosplay president. Some folks have been on here calling Muhammad Ali a draft dodger when yall got one in the White House. When I was at the Grammys the other night I saw a guy get up and talk about Jesus, and then I saw Bad Bunny get up there and talk like Jesus,” he wrote.

Crockett then warned that the country music world could learn a thing or two from Bad Bunny, saying, “The country music establishment should be taking notes on a Puerto Rican American who hasn’t forgotten his heritage and brought his culture’s traditional music back to the front, showing the world something new with it.”

The “Welcome to Hard Times” hitmaker then bashed Trump for bankrupting his business and declaring that the only thing Trump is good at is suing people. Crockett called out “immigrant” Elon Musk for “buying elections. Crockett then insisted that Musk be deported along with Peter Thiel because they think men of their wealth are “above the law” and they don’t believe in real democracy.

“Forgive me if I have a problem with a 34 time convicted felon running this country when I lost the right to vote or own a weapon for years over marijuana. As long as you’re hating the oppressed and loving your oppressor you’ll never know why our generation is poorer than our parents and grandparents. As a great man once said it’s welfare for the rich and rugged individualism for the poor,” Crockett stated.

The singer explained that those who are “licking their boots” and can sleep at night aren’t really free. In fact, they are part of “mental slavery,” but that’s the path they have chosen. Crocket also reminded his followers that every right in America was fought for and earned, not handed to us.

“Judge a man by how he treats the poor and those who he views as being able to do nothing for him. Don’t forget why Muhammad Ali said ‘I am America.’ Remember the coal miners of Harlan County, Kentucky.  I believe in what we can be. Ride on. 🐎” the country singer expressed.

Crockett’s wife, country singer Taylor Grace, hopped in the comments to show her love and support for his bold message. The singer’s words come hot on the heels of Jelly Roll sparking a debate after avoiding a political question about ICE at the Grammy Awards.
