OCONOMOWOC — Although plans remain very preliminary for Marcus Corporation-owned land in Pabst Farms, the company is wanting to move forward with designating a portion of it zoned for entertainment and the rest as commercial.
Oconomowoc City Planner Jason Gallo said the plans were given general approval in 2024, although at the time there was no precise plan. The change since then is that Marcus Corporation has flipped the layout of the site, and moved the entertainment portion closer to Pabst Farms Boulevard, with the five commercial lots wrapping around two sides of it, facing Interstate 94 and Penny Lane.
Eric Olson with Marcus Corporation said the thought is that with the zoning updated for the 16.5acre site, that it will be easier to draw in companies who would like to build there. When asked if Marcus Corporation is planning to build in the entertainment district portion of the property or find someone else to develop a project there, he said they are open to all options.
The Plan Commission will discuss amending the planned development overlay for that portion of Pabst Farms Town Centre during its meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Gallo said there will be a public hearing March 17.
“We are very excited to see the Pabst Farms to have the next phase of this development,” Gallo said.
Common Council to meet Tuesday
The Common Council will discuss at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday phase 5 of the Arrowood Development in the southwest portion of the city, bounded on the south by Oconomowoc Parkway and Valley Road and on the west by Concord Road. Phase 5 will include 36 lots.
A Developer’s Agreement is required when public facilities are being constructed by the developer and dedicated to the city. For this project, these facilities include streets, storm, sanitary sewer, watermains, and their laterals.
The council will also consider and possibly act on the conditional use permit for a 165-foot monopole cell tower, located at 1011 Blue Ribbon Circle North. There will be discussion of a license agreement for the City Trail Spur to Waukesha County’s Lake Country Trail within We Energies right-of-way, and for a Lake Trail connection within the right-of-way. Both meetings will be held at City Hall, 174 E. Wisconsin Ave.
