I’m A Celebrity legend Gemma Collins has admitted that she would “take on David Haye” after she was forced to step in and defend her co-star Adam Thomas during their heated exchange
Gemma Collins has claimed she had to “protect” co-star Adam Thomas from their I’m A Celebrity campmate David Haye while filming for the ITV show. The 45-year-old spoke on I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked and said: “I’m not afraid to step up.”
“I think David Haye might have seen a weakness in Adam. There was times where I had to protect Adam in there. If I was going full GC mode on David Haye, and a lot of them, then it would’ve been a disaster in there but I had to remain calm and composed and just remember that I’m not here to be performative. I am here as me.”
Gemma continued: “And I think the fact that I stretched my arms out, I’m sort of saying to ’em all, without biting their heads off: ‘Enough’.”
The TOWIE legend addressed the atmosphere in camp and explained: “Well basically, I knew if it was ever gonna get too bad I would be taking David on! You know, bring on the next heavyweight champion fighting the world because if I feel that something’s too much, I’m not afraid to step up.”
The clip was shared to the show’s official Instagram page and fans flocked to praise Gemma for standing up for the Emmerdale actor. Someone commented: “You are fabulous Gemma.”
Someone else said she was “amazing” and praised: “Well done Gemma,” while a third person gushed: “Love her, she’s such an incredible inspiration.”
The feud began after Adam confessed he felt ill and would rather not take part in a challenge. David began to slam Adam from across the campsite, saying that he was acting “useless” and that he isn’t a fan of men who behave that way.
At one point, the boxer said: “Who gives a s***?” before adding: “He’s a grown ass man. I don’t like guys when they’re a bit useless. There it is.”
Adam tried to laugh off the comments and fans took themselves online to defend him, some even branding David a “bully”. One viewer said: “David Haye, what a bully. Times like this he should be chucked out for being a d*******.”
Someone else questioned why the sportsman hasn’t “been removed for bullying yet”.
