Goldie Hawn has some things to say to her longtime friend Meryl Streep. The actress and icon’s name has been swirling in the media lately after Streep revealed that Hawn tended to be late to set while the two were shooting one of their most famous movies.

In a new interview, Hawn made it clear that timeliness is not one of her primary skills. “I think I’m 15 minutes late to everything. I mean, honestly, it’s unbelievable,” she said to Entertainment Weekly.
She said that she and Streep had been friends for decades. “But it is our joke. She said I was too late on the set. Maybe she’s too early. I don’t know,” she said with a laugh. “Sometimes when you’re too early, you’re still waiting for somebody and you think, ‘Oh, god, where the hell is she?'”

Streep has been promoting her new film “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” and discussing some of the biggest films of her career. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she revealed that she had “beef” with Hawn throughout the shoot of “Death Becomes Her,” due to their different approaches when it comes to punctuality.
“She was always adorable. And I was always on time to set, and annoying, but she’s late, and she’d have a red convertible, and she’d drive herself to set. That was probably the problem. She’d drive herself to set, and with her hair all blown out, she’s like ‘Oh gosh. Sorry!'” said Streep, in a perfect impression of Hawn’s bubbly voice. “And everybody thought, ‘Aw, she’s so cute!’. So I had a beef with her,” joked Streep. “I loved her. I love her. She’s one of my buddies. Over the years, we’ve had some laughs about that movie because people love it.”

“Death Becomes Her” came out in 1992, following two lifelong friends, played by Streep and Hawn, and their feud over a plastic surgeon and love interest, played by Bruce Willis. The film remains relevant to this day, discussing the beauty industry, Beverly Hills culture, and remaining one of the most famous entries in both of their storied careers.
In recent years, the movie was adapted into a Broadway play and served as the inspiration for Sabrina Carpenter’s music video “Taste,” co-starring Jenna Ortega.
