LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Council members representing southwest Louisville are launching a new series of free outdoor concerts this summer.
Council members Jonathan Joseph, Dan Seum Jr., Crystal Bast and Khalil Batshon announced the “Southwest Music Series,” a lineup of five concerts at parks and public spaces in southwest Louisville.
The concerts aim to bring the community together with live music, local food trucks and family activities, according to a news release.
The series will feature a range of musical styles, including bluegrass, soul, R&B, contemporary country and Americana, the news release said. It also includes two longtime annual events: Forest Fest and the Riverview Independence Festival.
“We are thrilled to sponsor this series and provide our families with safe, high-quality entertainment right in their own backyard,” Councilmembers Joseph, Seum, Bast and Batshon said in a joint statement. “Southwest Louisville has a rich culture and beautiful green spaces. This series is about celebrating our community and making the arts accessible to everyone.”
