Hatebreed have shared a brief tease of new material they have in works for their upcoming ninth studio album. The below video previews a clip of a song from that record, with the caption, seemingly from frontman Jamey Jasta, proclaiming the album as featuring “all heaters, no cheaters”. Meanwhile, in a new interview with Mark Mailler, Jasta had further colorful commentary when it came to describing what the metalcore band have cooked up for this next full-length.

Jasta said in that conversation [Blabbermouth.net]

“This is our most ignorant, heavy, caveman-esque record yet. We really just went back to basics, played on all our strengths. Every band goes, ‘Oh, this is our most melodic. We’re our most heavy.’ There’s no melody, so we won’t even bother with that. It’s definitely just more of the same, going back to the same well, which we just love and appreciate. And it was the most fun we’ve ever had doing a record.”

As for when fans can expect it, a fall release date seems likely, as Jasta relayed:

“This record will be mixed and mastered probably over the next two weeks, and we’ll have a date in the fall. If people wanna get their name in the thanks list, they got a couple more days to do that too. This is the first time we did everything totally independent, and then we’ll decide — we’re gonna decide on the label probably next week, because we did it totally independent. We had full creative control, which is amazing, for the first time ever. And, yeah, we’re really happy with that.”

This new album from the band will represent a substantial change, given the bitter legal battle that emerged after bassist Chris Beattie was let go from the group in 2024. Ongoing legal proceedings for that case have seen Beattie identified as one of the band’s two primary songwriters alongside Jasta.
