Apple Martin has landed another major deal, but it seems fans have a bone to pick with her.
The 22-year-old daughter of Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay lead star Chris Martin took to her Instagram Story on May 19 to promote her new project with the renowned French luxury fashion house Chloé, founded in 1952 by Egyptian-born designer Gaby Aghion.
Apple’s campaign was depicted through the lens of David Sims rather than Sandro Botticelli’s paintbrush. The recent college grad is the face of the second chapter of Chloé à la Plage. It comes after Apple landed her acting debut, sparking backlash.
In the snaps, Apple is seen lounging in front of a giant shell, one of a series of images that celebrate the poetry and wardrobe of summer.
She wore a white, summery two-piece co-ord and had her blonde locks loose and flowing around her shoulders. In another snap, Apple smoldered for the camera, sitting on golden sand, with a brown woven bag on her shoulder, while wearing a patterned two-piece set.
She also shared a close-up shot of herself holding a huge shell in her hand as she showed off her youthful complexion while gazing into the camera.
Alongside the stunning snaps, Apple penned, “What an absolute honor to get to work with Chloé. I have never seen such ethereal pieces.
“I cannot fathom how incredibly beautiful this collection is and the fact that I was able to shoot in them makes me feel more than words can express! Thank you @chemena for this opportunity. It is a dream come true!!!!!!! And thank you to all of the amazingly talented people who made this vision come to life.”
She also gave everyone involved behind the scenes of the campaign a shoutout in her caption. While Apple was busy gushing over her exciting venture, it’s fair to say fans didn’t think the same.
Taking to X, one user fumed, “Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple for Chloe. I’m sorry but she looks like the male version of her father Chris Martin.”
“These nepo babies get everything for practically doing nothing,” the user added. A second person echoed, “Never seen someone suck the life out of a photoshoot, she’s got the same personality of another nepo baby Brooklyn Beckham that was given soo many job titles & was master of none.”
“Kind of interesting seeing celebrity kids start stepping into modeling and fashion jobs. Feels like the industry circles stay pretty close like that,” someone else said. And a fourth slammed, “Don’t work too hard there Apple.”
However, some people were quick to defend Apple, with one user arguing, “I see a very beautiful girl. Just because her parents are famous, doesn’t mean she’s fair game.” Meanwhile another person raved, “I need these as posters.”
