The Marion Concert Band will present a movie-themed performance at 7 p.m. July 24 at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand in Marion, featuring music inspired by film, television and outer space.

The space-themed portion features “Star Wars Saga” arranged by S. Bulla, “Star Trek Through the Years” by J. Moss, “Themes from Lost in Space” and “Theme from E.T.” by J. Williams, along with “The Trombone King” by K. L. King.
Euphonium soloist Toby Monte will perform during the program. Monte has appeared with ensembles including the Massachusetts All-State Band, the New Bedford Symphony Youth Orchestra, the UMass Dartmouth Wind Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra, St. Cecilia Philharmonic Band, the Tri-County Symphonic Band and the Brown University Orchestra, according to the announcement. Monte has been a member of the Marion Concert Band since 2011.
The concert will take place at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, located at Island Wharf off Front Street in Marion. The performance will be conducted by Tobias Monte and is free and open to the public.
