Young M.A Falls In Love With A “Dancer” in the Latest Video
Respected for her peerless pen game, Young M.A isn’t afraid to make her feelings known. Telling a story of unexpected romance, the Brooklyn born star releases “Dancer,” a new music video. Produced by Mike Zombie, Snakechild and Whitlock Beats, “Dancer” is a breezy uptempo banger, with an airy instrumental that evokes the Five Boroughs signature sexy drill sound. M.A works her upper register, using her skill with melody to spit game toward a baddie at a local club: “She said, ‘Daddy, make it rain’/Throw 20K, make it precipitateGot this money just for you, they can’t participate/She next on that stage and I can’t even wait,” M.A sings. In the video, directed by Rook, M.A makes herself at home at the club, as she waits for her dancer to finish her shift, before one of her homies breaks her lovelorn daze.
Quickly following the pool-set video for “B.B.B,” “Dancer” is a highlight from Kween, M.A’s recently released album. Reflective, yet triumphant, Kween finds M.A processing her pain, working through hardship to emerge victorious over personal demons and industry misconceptions. The title combines the words “king” and “queen,” as used by M.A in a popular 2017 freestyle and for her charitable KWEENZ Foundation. The new album is home to highlights like the boisterous single “Lasagna,” which racked up over 2.2 million views on YouTube since its February release, and “Still Free,” a mission statement that details her personal evolution. Featuring guest spots from G Herbo, Tory Lanez, and more, Kween is available on all platforms via M.A Music / 3D.
Kween arrives amidst a wave of attention from Young M.A, who recently appeared on Club Shay Shay and ABC 7, with recent features in Billboard and People Mag. With Kween out now, M.A looks to reclaim her rightful place atop the game. Stay tuned for much more.
