Meghan Markle is taking her love of cooking to MasterChef Australia as a guest judge on Sunday’s episode.
The show’s four remaining contestants will be challenged to create a dish using some of the Duchess of Sussex’s favorite ingredients, including carrots, Jerusalem artichokes, Brussels sprouts, macadamias and strawberries.
The episode, which will air on Australia’s Network 10, was filmed in April during Meghan and Prince Harry’s visit to the country.
In a newly released preview, Meghan said cooking was her “love language.” She added, “I think it’s such a great way to connect. It’s something that can feel sentimental and meaningful, and it’s how I show my nurturing and love for my friends, family and my kids.”
Meghan admitted she prefers a calmer approach to cooking to the high-pressure environment of the MasterChef kitchen. “I like to cook in a really relaxed fashion,” she said, “so all I could say to the competitors was to just remember to have fun, to keep a sense of humor about it and to cook from the heart.”
Describing her own cooking style, Meghan said, “I’m a California girl. I like grilled fish, grilled meats, lots of citrus. I just like using really pure, natural herbs and spices, like basil and oregano.”
Finalist Petro Papathomas said he was initially starstruck but quickly found Meghan to be “really genuine.”
“There’s been so much written about her, you kind of don’t know what to believe, but I loved her,” he told TV WEEK. “She was so kind and talks really intelligently about food as well.”
Fellow finalist Casper Kenworthy described Meghan as “one of our favorite judges,” adding, “She was interested in what you were doing and wanting to chat.”
The guest spot follows Meghan’s Emmy-nominated Netflix series With Love, Meghan and the launch of her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Reports of behind-the-scenes tension during filming were disputed by a source close to Meghan, who told PEOPLE that Meghan and the judges “had a wonderful time filming together.” Australian broadcaster Network 10 also denied the allegations.
