In documents released as part of the Epstein files, an email reveals that the FBI wanted to interview Andrew as part of the investigation into Nygard.
The National reports that a letter written to the UK authorities in April 2020 requested that Andrew should attend a voluntary interview relating to the Jeffrey Epstein and Nygard investigations.
In the letter, the FBI referred to a visit made by Andrew and his family to Nygard’s luxury Caribbean resort in 2000.
The FBI letter reportedly read: “With regard to the interview, US authorities request to conduct a voluntary interview of Prince Andrew and request the assistance of UK authorities in arranging for such an interview. In the event that the witness declines to participate in a voluntary interview, US authorities request that UK authorities conduct a compelled interview of the witness under oath.”
It is believed they wanted to talk to Andrew about numerous things, including his relationship with Nygard, any trips they took together and any information about women that Andrew had met through Nygard or at Nygard Cay, Nygard’s home.
The National also reports that the FBI wanted information about Andrew’s relationship with Epstein.
A document reportedly read: “Additionally, documentary evidence uncovered during the course of this investigation has revealed information suggesting that Prince Andrew had knowledge that Maxwell recruited females to engage in sex acts with Epstein and other men.”
