Andy Samberg reiterated that he (probably) had nothing to do with the death of his four-legged nemesis, Seth Meyers’ dog Frisbee, in a new interview.
The late-night host’s 14-year-old canine earlier this month, Meyers announced, with Frisbee later the recipient of an unlikely New York Times obituary. However, much of the news pertaining to the greyhound’s death focused on his longtime beef with Meyers’ former SNL cast mate Samberg, an avowed hater of Frisbee; “I have been walking home in New York, drunk at 4 in the morning, and seen rats I like more than Frisbee,” Samberg once quipped.

Frisbee’s death, which came in close proximity to Samberg’s birthday, led to half-joking online speculation that perhaps the actor was somehow responsible, but Samberg himself put those theories to rest in an Entertainment Weekly interview with Kate McKinnon, both of whom are promoting their new film The Roses.
“I didn’t kill Frisbee, as much as that would have delighted me,” Samberg swore. When asked by McKinnon why he disliked Frisbee, Samberg said, “Just the general appearance and vibe, and essence, and feel,” as well as the dog having “more talon than foot.”
“You don’t want to be mucking up someone’s actual passing, but in this instance it was inarguably pretty funny,” Samberg added of his intrusion on Frisbee’s obituaries. “Sick burn on Seth, and he deserves nothing but pain. Just a bad person.”
Meyers and Samberg previously discussed Frisbee’s death in an episode of their Lonely Island With Seth Meyers podcast. “Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would have the privilege of being so inextricably linked to Frisbee’s demise [or] that good ol’ Fris would get so much love and coverage. I mean, what a dream come true across the board,” Samberg said.
Meyers added that Frisbee “was worth more than just how much Andy fucking hated her.”
