NEED TO KNOW

  • Ariana Grande attended Broadway’s Titanique, which features her brother Frankie Grande in the cast

  • The visit coincided with Mother’s Day, allowing Ariana to spend time with her mom Joan Grande, a co-producer of the show

  • Ariana praised the musical on social media, calling it “perfect” and supporting its nominations for the 2026 Tony Awards

Ariana Grande stepped aboard the ship of dreams over the weekend.

On Saturday, May 9, the superstar singer and Oscar-nominated actress visited Broadway’s Titanique — the hilarious hit musical that reimagines the story of the 1997 blockbuster Titanic through Céline Dion‘s music.

The production shared video footage of the occasion to social media.

It was extra special because among those in Titanique’s cast is Frankie Grande, Ariana’s older brother. He stars in the show alongside Melissa Barrera, Jim Parsons, Deborah Cox, Layton Williams, John Riddle, and co-creators Marla Mindelle and Constantine Rousouli.

All posed with Ariana backstage after the show. They were joined by ensemble members Sara Gallo and Polanco Jones, as well as understudies Brad Greer and Tess Marshall.

This isn’t the first time Ariana has seen Titanique. The Wicked star — who was 15 years old when she made her Broadway debut as Charlotte in the Jason Robert Brown musical 13 — has supported Titanique multiple times throughout its decade-long road to the Rialto, including coming to its Off-Broadway run.

To get to the St. James Theatre in New York City to see Titanique this time around, Ariana took a break from rehearsals for her upcoming Eternal Sunshine tour. The series of concerts across North America and the U.K. kicks off on Saturday, June 6 in Oakland, California.

That’s a day before the 2026 Tony Awards, which honor the best of theater in the 2025-2026 season. Titanique is up for four awards, including Best Musical and a nomination for Best Actress in a Musical for Mindelle, who plays Dion.

In the comments, Ariana was throwing her support behind the musical. “The best show ever,” she commented, writing in another remark: “📢 @marlamindelle for best actress 📢 @titaniquemusical for best musical ♡.”

She gushed more about the show on her Instagram Stories.

“The hardest I’ve laughed and the most gorgeous voices I’ve ever heard?” she raved. “@titaniquemusical is perfect?.”

“You are all magnificent and literal geniuses,” she added, tagging Mindelle, Rousouli, Grande, Barrera, Williams, Parsons, Riddle and Cox.

The trip home also gave Ariana a chance to spend time with her mom, Joan Grande, for Mother’s Day. Joan co-produces Titanique through her company, Diamond Dog Entertainment.

Getting there wasn’t easy. After the musical joked that Ariana “drove all night” to make it to the show — in a reference to Dion’s 2003 cover of the Cyndi Lauper hit — Ariana clarified “i really did ! ♡”

Added Joan: “She actually DID!!!! @titaniquemusical the BEST MUSICAL ever!!!! I love this show and I love this cast and I love this day!!!!”

Directed by co-creator Tye Blue, Titanique became a word-of-mouth sensation over the years, spawning productions around the world and even landing in London’s West End, where it took home the Olivier Award for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play.

Once an underground cult favorite, the show has now been scaled up for a 1,700-seat Broadway house, where it began performances in April. Producer Eva Price has even brought on a slew of celebrity co-producers, including *NSYNC‘s Joey Fatone and JC Chasez, Las Culturistas‘ Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, and Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying and his husband, Mark Hoying.

Remarkably, for all its growth, nothing has been lost in translation. The scrappy downtown energy is still very much intact — with Mindelle and cast retelling this iconic story with innovation and irreverence.

Theatergoers can expect to hear Dion’s biggest hits, like “Because You Loved Me,” “All By Myself,” “I’m Alive,” “To Love You More,” “Taking Chances” and, of course, “My Heart Will Go On.” All of the moments from James Cameron’s film are all there, too: “I’m the king of the world,” the soaring “I’m flying” scene, the promise to never let go. Even the great door debate gets its due.

Tickets to Titanique, which is playing through Sept. 20, are now on sale.
