Ashley Greene spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about her sweet tradition of emailing letters to her daughter, Kingsley Rainn, 3, to look back on when she’s older
The Twilight star also revealed the little girl’s Halloween costume plans

Ashley Greene has found a special way to preserve memories for her young daughter.
While chatting exclusively with PEOPLE at the Clarins x V Magazine Golden Hour Event during F1 weekend in Austin, Texas, on Oct. 18, the Twilight star, 38, revealed that she sends letters to an email address she created for her daughter, 3-year-old Kingsley Rainn.
“The most recent one was that everyone who meets you says you have the biggest personality, which I just love so much because I was a really shy child,” Greene says.
She went on to share some of her daughter’s unique personality traits.
“She is so authentically herself, and I think a lot of that she gets from her dad,” the actress says, referring to her husband, entrepreneur Paul Khoury, whom she married in 2018. “But she’s so funny, man. And she 1,000% knows what she wants and how to get it. And I think it’s such a beautiful… If I can continue to harness that, but keep her kindness, I think she will be set up for success.”

Greene also revealed the 3-year-old’s Halloween plans.
“This will give you insight on my child. She wants to be Gargamel. I was like, ‘Okay, cool, Smurfs. What do you want to be? Do you want to be Smurfette?’ And she was like, ‘No, I want to be Gargamel.’ So I had to have a costume made for her,” Greene tells PEOPLE.
The Some Other Woman star says her and Khoury’s “old traditions are gone” as the couple embraces new holiday traditions with Kingsley. And that includes getting a very early start on the Christmas cheer.
“This is the first year that she’s really into all the holidays, so she’s super excited about Halloween and she’s super excited about Christmas. Our tradition right now is that I sing her Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer every single night,” Greene shares. “She loves it. Literally, in the middle of the summer, it’s Rudolph.”

Greene often shares glimpses into her family life on social media. Last month, she posted a series of photos from Kingsley’s Super Mario Bros.-themed third birthday party. The festivities included outdoor games, cake and an appearance by characters Mario and Luigi.
“Our girl is a THREE-REX!! A beautiful celebration for a beautiful little soul. ❤️,” Greene captioned the Instagram post.
Over the summer, the family took a trip to Amsterdam, and Greene shared several highlights of their experience in the Dutch city, which included a scenic boat ride through the canals.

Alongside black-and-white photos of the trio cuddled up on the boat together — with Kingsley wrapped in a blanket to keep warm — Green wrote, “Amsterdam holds a special place in my heart. We took a boat tour from our hotel @pulitzer.amsterdam (which I’m obsessed with) and it was magical. 💫 Just perfect.”
In another post, Greene shared snaps of herself, Khoury and Kingsley exploring the sights, tasting some local cuisine and even having a little tea party. She said she was “already plotting my return” to Amsterdam after such a memorable family trip.
