Fans of the baking programme think the new addition to the judging line-up will be ‘amazing’
Bake Off fans have shared their response after it was confirmed that pastry chef Cherish Finden will be stepping is a judge for the upcoming Stand Up To Cancer series.
The Bake Off: The Professionals judge will be joining Paul Hollywood in the tent when the Channel 4 series returns later this year. It comes after Prue Leith announced that she was quitting the main show after nine series, with Domestic Goddess Nigella Lawson replacing her.
The news was shared on Instagram, alongside a snap of Cherish with Paul and Bake Off presenters Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.
“Cherish will be joining us in the Tent for The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off!” it said.

The star said she was “delighted to be joining Paul in judging Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C”.
“Whilst I definitely haven’t left my ruler at home, judging these wonderful celebrities is about more than just precision, it’s about spreading joy and supporting a meaningful cause,” she added.
Fans shared their response on social media, with one saying it was “great news”. “Love love love Cherish,” said someone else. “So happy about this and for such a good cause.”
“Wow! Curious to see the dynamic with Paul, Allison and Noel!” exclaimed another fan.
“Love it! Love it! Love it! Bring on Cherish,” said someone else. “My favourite judge to join the team,” said another fan.
The series will see a host of celebs enter the tent to try and impress the judges with their bakes in the Signature, Technical and Showstopper challenges, including former Celebrity Big Brother star JoJo Siwa, Love Island star Molly- Mae Hague, former Strictly contestant Vicky Pattison and actor Emmett J Scanlan. Broadcaster Edith Bowman, actor Ralf Little and comedian Joe Wilkinson are also among those taking part.
Prue stepped back The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer in 2025, then this year announced that she was leaving the programme altogether.
She wrote on Instagram: “After nine series and judging more than 400 challenges, I have decided to step down as a judge on The Great British Bake Off.”
Posting a snap alongside co-judge Paul, she told followers: “Bake Off has been a fabulous part of my life for the last nine years, I have genuinely loved it and I’m sure I’ll miss working with my fellow judge Paul, Alison and Noel and the teams at Love Productions and Channel 4. But now feels like the right time to step back (I’m 86 for goodness sake! ), there’s so much I’d like to do, not least spend summers enjoying my garden.”
