Deepak Chopra has spent decades teaching millions of people how to transcend the material world. His 95 books promise spiritual enlightenment through meditation, higher consciousness, and connection to the divine. He’s built a wellness empire worth hundreds of millions by positioning himself as a bridge between ancient Eastern wisdom and modern seekers looking for meaning beyond the physical.
Then there are the emails to Jeffrey Epstein.
“God is a construct,” Chopra wrote to the convicted sex offender in March 2017. “Cute girls are real.“
The two-line message appears in over 3 million pages of documents the U.S. Department of Justice released from Epstein’s criminal cases. It’s one of dozens of emails showing Chopra maintained regular contact with Epstein from at least 2016 through 2019 — years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor.
The correspondence reveals a relationship that went well beyond casual acquaintance. CBS News reported that Epstein’s calendar showed about a dozen meetings with Chopra during those years. The emails show Chopra turning to Epstein for financial advice, using him as a social connector to celebrities and diplomats, and joining him for late-night hangouts that Chopra described as “a blast.”
‘Bring your girls’

In February 2017, Chopra invited Epstein to join him in Israel. The email didn’t mince words.
“Come to Israel with us. Relax and have fun with interesting people. If you want use a fake name. Bring your girls. It will be fun to have you.”
The invitation came nine years after Epstein’s conviction. It came with an offer to help Epstein travel under an assumed identity. And it came with an explicit request: bring your girls.
The next month, Chopra sent the message about God being a construct and cute girls being real. Religion News Service reported finding another email where Chopra recounted an evening with Epstein that “Ended 1 AM.”
When accusers dropped lawsuits
The files show Chopra following Epstein’s legal troubles closely. In 2018, Chopra asked: “Did she also drop the civil case against you?“
Epstein confirmed: “YuP.“
Chopra’s response: “Good.“
NPR reported finding voice messages in the files where Chopra sought financial guidance from Epstein. The files also show Chopra asking Epstein in 2016 if he knew Marla Maples, Trump’s second wife. celebrity.land reported that Epstein responded with a story about losing a $10,000 bet to Trump over Maples’ pregnancy, claiming he paid it with a truckload of baby food.
Dinners with Woody Allen and a UN official

Epstein used his relationship with Chopra to arrange social gatherings that mixed celebrities with political power. The House Oversight Committee documents show Epstein coordinated dinners bringing together Chopra, filmmaker Woody Allen, and Miroslav Lajčák — who was serving as President of the UN General Assembly at the time.
Reuters reported that Lajčák resigned from his role advising the Slovakian government after his name surfaced in the files.
celebrity.land found emails where Epstein asked if Chopra could get Leonardo DiCaprio to join a dinner with Allen. Chopra said he’d ask. The files don’t indicate if it happened.
‘Poor judgment in tone’
Chopra addressed the emails in a statement he posted to X and pinned to the top of his account.
“I am deeply saddened by the suffering of the victims in this case, and I unequivocally condemn abuse and exploitation in all forms,” he wrote to his 2.7 million followers.
He denied any involvement in criminal conduct and described his contact with Epstein as “limited and unrelated to abusive activity.”
“Some past email exchanges have surfaced that reflect poor judgment in tone. I regret that and understand how they read today, given what was publicly known at the time.”
The statement had been viewed over 300,000 times as of Wednesday afternoon.
Chopra launched an AI chatbot trained on his life’s work in November 2025, according to Religion News Service. The bot draws from his 95 books, recorded talks and videos to answer users’ questions about spirituality and consciousness. The House Oversight Committee began releasing the Epstein documents that same month.
But the files show Chopra’s contact wasn’t occasional or incidental. It was regular, personal, and enthusiastic. And it continued long after the world knew what Epstein was.
