Bethenny Frankel took aim at Bad Bunny and then backtracked on her opinion after sharing her views on his Super Bowl 2026 performance.
The Real Housewives of New York City star has been slammed by her fans after deleting a video of her original reaction to the Puerto Rican superstar’s halftime show on Sunday, February 8. Bethenny, 55, came under fire when one X user reposted the video where they claimed the reality star has admitted she couldn’t “wait to get canceled for this.”
In the clip Bethenny asked, “Should these entertainment vehicles — the Grammys, the Emmys, the Oscars, the Super Bowl — should this be the place for personal, cultural, political views to be expressed?” She then continued, “Certainly, there are major world events that take place, whether COVID or tragedies, 9/11, and it’s unavoidable that it’s discussed, but where is the line?”
She then compared Bad Bunny’s performance to “Dave Chapelle expressing transphobic views onstage in 2021. She also drew comparisons with Richard Gere “getting into trouble” in the past and with Billie Eilish taking aim at ICE during her Grammys 2026 acceptance speech.
Bethenny continued, “Where is the line?” before pointing out that TV personalities Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos aren’t “allowed to express any opinions about anything going on” during “Live With Kelly and Mark.”
She concluded, “That show… they can barely discuss anything going on. It’s an entertainment vehicle, and they keep it that way.” However, Bethenny appeared to have a change of heart, deleting that video and then sharing another.
In the second recording, she celebrated Bad Bunny and praised him for exercising his right to “express [himself],” a change of heart that prompted her followers to call her out. One fan slammed her for the fact she had “changed [her] tune.”
A second said, “That’s right. You better walk it back quick,” while a third added, “Nahh, put your original video back up.” Bethenny has since also deleted the second video.
According to Page Six, an insider has shared that Bethenny “love[d] the show” and “often shares her thoughts in real time, so her content is always evolving during pop-culture moments like this.”
Bethenny wasn’t the only Housewives star to share their opinion on Bad Bunny’s Spanish-language performance for the Super Bowl.
Taylor Armstrong of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills gave her own scathing take on the show as she admitted her “embarrassment” for the NFL.
She shared with her Instagram followers over the weekend, “I am embarrassed for the NFL and Apple for the Super Bowl halftime show totally in Spanish with a Cuban flag!!”
