Beyoncé is among the few musicians and artists to reach billionaire status, building a fortune largely through her music career while also continuing to invest in philanthropic efforts.
The Grammy-winning singer recently joined the billionaires club following the success of her 2023 Renaissance World Tour, which grossed nearly $600 million, and her record-breaking “Cowboy Carter” era, according to Forbes.
She became one of only a handful of musicians to reach the billionaire benchmark. Only four other recording artists have reached this milestone, including Beyoncé‘s husband Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Bruce Springsteen.
Forbes confirmed the singer’s self-made fortune is mainly from her music.
How Beyoncé amassed a $1 billion fortune
“The majority of pop star Beyoncé Knowles’ net worth comes from her roughly three decades as a solo performer and a member of the girl-group Destiny’s Child,” Forbes reported, noting that she “amassed an estimated $1 billion fortune from years of music sales, touring and collecting art with her already-billionaire husband Jay-Z.”
As of publication, the “Cowboy Carter” creator is listed as No. 3312 on Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List and the No. 3 highest paid musician as of 2025.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z is currently ranked as No. 1495 in the world with a $2.8 billion net worth.
“Since becoming hip-hop’s first billionaire in 2019, Jay-Z has more than doubled his fortune thanks to his lucrative liquor businesses,” Forbes wrote.
The power couple reportedly made their biggest real estate move yet in 2023, purchasing their Malibu, California, mansion for $190 million. However, they have continuously used their funds to give back to communities as well.
Both Beyoncé and Jay-Z have a track record of investing in various American communities, especially those that have shaped them, through multiple philanthropic efforts and their respective charities, the Shawn Carter Foundation and the BeyGood Foundation.
In 2025, the couple donated $2.5 million via the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund after many LA residents lost their homes in the city’s wildfires. Additionally, BeyGood supported 100 students with scholarships, especially those attending historically Black colleges and universities, according to the organization’s official website.
Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland affordable housing project set to open in 2026
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, recently confirmed that The Knowles-Rowland House, the singer’s project with Destiny’s Child alum Kelly Rowland, is expected to open in early 2026 as another way for the singers to give back to their hometown of Houston.
The 31-unit complex, an $8.4 million permanent supportive housing project, will offer housing and support services for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness in the area.
