Natasha Melton couldn’t stop laughing when she saw how her son Jameson had drawn her
The mom of three posted the photo on her TikTok, which showed a drawing of her with her anxiety
Now, Melton tells PEOPLE why she wasn’t offended by some of the backlash on social media
Natasha Melton couldn’t contain her laughter when she saw the drawing her son Jameson had made at school.
In a now-viral video, the 26-year-old showed off the hilarious picture her 6-year-old son drew of their entire family. “So my son drew this picture of our family,” Melton says between laughter in her video.
“And I ask him who this was,” Melton says, pointing to a stick figure in a red dress. The person had squiggly lines coming off their body and was drawn holding their hands to their mouth. “And he said, ‘It’s you, Mom! But you’re so nervous all the time.”
“My anxiety is showing 👀,” Melton captioned the video.

“The stick hands on mouth,” one person wrote. “He drew your timbers being shivered,” said another.
“Nerve lines is TOO funny,” wrote a third.
Now, she tells PEOPLE that she still finds the drawing hilarious — and says it definitely depicts the true picture of their family of five.
“I thought the picture was very cute and also funny when I first saw it,” says the mom of three. “Very accurate description of our family.”

Melton says her whole family found the picture funny — including her husband.
“My husband and I both thought it was a classic representation of our family,” she says. “Friends found it funny and classic me as well.”
While she says the online reaction was surprising at first, Melton explains why she didn’t find the backlash to be that hurtful.
“The online reaction did surprise me at first! But it also excited me,” she says. “I’m a huge advocate for mental health, so I didn’t really mind the backlash that came.”
“I think it’s important to hear what opinions are out there so everyone can understand there are different experiences — especially when it comes to parenthood and young moms. But I appreciated that many people saw the humor and my side as well!” adds Melton.
