The recent passing of Brandon Blackstock, ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson, has shocked the showbiz world.
His obituary names Brittney Marie Jones as his “beautiful and loving partner in life and business,” a relationship and partnership kept largely away from the spotlight. The pair quietly built a new chapter together, co-founding a string of ventures including the Headwaters Livestock Auction and the Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman.
Brittney was revealed as Blackstock’s romantic and business partner during his low-key life in Montana.
His obituary described their loving partnership, in which they both spent their final years “building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly.”
It read, “After more than 20 years in the music business, Brandon found his way back to the mountains and the cowboy way of life he always wanted to live.”
“He found a homestead and a love in Butte, Montana,” it continued, “Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana.”
Jones worked as Kelly Clarkson’s production assistant from 2016 to 2018.
She then transitioned to a more central role as executive assistant to Brandon at Starstruck Entertainment.
In June 2020, the same month Clarkson filed for divorce, she relocated to Montana to work at Brandon’s cattle operation, V Bar B Cattle Co.
Though the precise timeline of their romance is unclear, reports suggest their partnership began around the time Brandon’s divorce was being finalized, around 2022.
Brandon tragically passed away on August 7 from melanoma. He was aged 48.
The star left behind four children, River, 11, and Remy, 9, whom he shares with singer Kelly Clarkson; and his two children, Savannah and Seth, from his previous relationship with ex-wife Melissa.
Melissa recently broke her silence on the star’s shock death, writing, “On May 29, 1999 I married the man who would become the father of my children,” Melissa wrote alongside a black-and-white picture of her and Brandon on their wedding day. The pair divorced in 2012, but remained friendly.
She continued, “Brandon was full of charm, witt [sic], and just an absolute gentleman who happened to wear cowboy boots, wrangler jeans, and a cowboy hat.”
