Britney Spears is getting candid about the real reason she tied the knot with ex-husband Sam Asghari.
On Sunday, August 24, the pop star, 43, took to her Instagram to share a photo of herself from behind, seemingly nude, and reflected on how losing contact with her sons Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18 — whom she shares with her ex-husband Kevin Federline — affected her.
“We’re just people so fragile and human the hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years,” the Grammy Award winner who was married to Federline, 47, from 2004 to 2007 admitted in the caption.
“I was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears its weird me and Sam were married but it almost felt like a fake distraction to help me deal with it,” Spears further confessed.
The “Toxic” singer and Asghari, 31, wed in June 2022, but he filed for divorce in August 2023 after a little over a year of marriage.
“Well I know im healing bc im hungry again like a child or baby… im so hungry it hurts and when I eat its like its my first time ever eating in my life,” Spears continued in her caption. “I believe although I loved my home there is waaay too much abuse and trauma in there.”
As Star previously reported, the “Circus” vocalist reconnected with Jayden in recent months and has documented some of their time together on Instagram.
In December 2024, she posted a video with Jayden on the app and shared how happy she was to be with him.
“Best Christmas of my life!!! I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years!!!” Spears gushed in the caption. “Tears of joy and literally in shock everyday koo koo crazy so in love and blessed!!! I’m speechless thank you Jesus!!!”
