Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle is opening up about his dramatic makeover.
During an appearance on the Wednesday, May 20 episode of the Fat Mascara podcast, Buckle gave host Jessica Matlin an update on the plastic surgeries he underwent nearly a year ago.
“I had a deep plane neck lift, lower face lift, I had a brow lift and an upper bleph. And a chin implant,” he shared.
Buckle recalled asking his surgeon, Dr. David Rosenberg, for his thoughts on the chin implant.
“I’ve always felt like I could be a relative to Kermit the Frog,” Buckle joked. “There was just a lack of profile. There was something muppet-y about my lower face and [Dr. Rosenberg] goes, ‘No, that would be good.'”
The makeup artist also shared why, for him, the surgery was empowering.
“I feel like I have a second chance on something I took for granted,” he explained. “People were like, ‘Oh you’re handsome, you’re handsome,’ and I believed them. And then time went on and I was like, ‘Oh wait a minute, it went away.'”

Buckle said that his goal wasn’t necessarily to look younger.
“I did it when I was 56. It’s been almost a year,” he shared. “I wasn’t worried about looking younger because I feel like I look youthful for my age anyway. It’s about just being pleasing to the eye.”
Buckle, whose clients include Mariah Carey, Blake Lively and Lindsay Lohan, documented each step of his plastic surgery experience on Instagram in June 2025.
He gave followers a peek into the healing process as well as a rundown of each cosmetic procedure.
The journey began with a video of Buckle sitting down with New York City-based plastic surgeon Dr. David Rosenberg.
“I looked at everyone’s work in Hollywood and I see it close up out of makeup, out of filters, and the best work, you do,” he told the surgeon while sitting in a consultation room. “If I was going to have something done to my face, you being the one to do it, would be the greatest day ever.”

Buckle explained that his main concerns were his sagging neck and face skin, as well as his eyebrows drooping. Dr. Rosenberg said that he planned to address Buckle’s concerns through a deep plane neck and face lift, small chin implant and an endoscopic brow lift. The procedures were the first time Buckle underwent plastic surgery.

The makeup artist’s follow-up came on June 25 after going under the knife. He shared a video of himself post-procedure getting his bandages removed to reveal scars on his eyes, neck and temples.
The third update came on June 26, along with side-by-side photos showing his results 24 hours after his surgery.
“This is my before and after less than 24 hours after my deep plane neck and lower face lift brow lift with chin implant, brow lift and upper eye bleph,” he explained in the caption. “My before is evidence of how my makeup was able to hide. My after shows how @drdavidrosenberg has given me the freedom to reveal!”
